Effective date: September 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how LaneSurfer (“the App”), provided by Funqly (“we”, “us” or “our”), collects, uses, stores and shares information when you use the App.
LaneSurfer is an advertising-supported mobile game. The App does not require you to create a personal account or provide an email address, telephone number or real name. However, certain technical information and game information are processed to provide advertisements, maintain high scores, operate the App and prevent abuse.
When you first use LaneSurfer, the App uses Supabase Anonymous Authentication to create an anonymous account. Supabase assigns a randomly generated unique user identifier (UUID) to your installation.
This identifier:
Because LaneSurfer does not provide a conventional sign-in system, the anonymous account generally cannot be recovered after the App is removed or its stored data is cleared. Scores associated with the previous identifier may remain in the online leaderboard but will no longer be recognised as your personal scores.
When you complete a game, LaneSurfer may process and store information including:
High scores and display names may be displayed publicly in LaneSurfer’s leaderboards. Do not use your real name or include personal, offensive or sensitive information in your display name.
Display names may be automatically checked or moderated. We may remove or change inappropriate, offensive, misleading or abusive names.
If anonymous authentication is temporarily unavailable, a score may be saved without a user identifier. In that situation, the App may use information such as the score and approximate submission time to match or display the result.
LaneSurfer uses local device storage, including AsyncStorage, to store information needed for the App to work. This may include:
This locally stored information normally remains on your device until you clear the App’s data or uninstall the App.
LaneSurfer uses Google AdMob to display advertisements, including banner, interstitial and rewarded advertisements.
Depending on your device, location, consent choices and settings, Google and its advertising partners may process information such as:
This information may be used to provide, measure, limit and improve advertisements, prevent fraud and, where you have given the required permission, provide personalised advertising.
Google may use cookies, device storage, advertising identifiers and similar technologies according to your consent choices and applicable law.
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and other locations where consent is required, LaneSurfer uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and manage advertising choices.
You may be offered a choice between personalised advertising and more limited or non-personalised advertising. Non-personalised or limited advertisements may still use certain information for purposes such as delivering advertisements, frequency capping, aggregated reporting, security and fraud prevention.
You can review or change your available choices through the Privacy choices option in the App when that option is required and available.
LaneSurfer is supported by advertising. If the applicable privacy settings do not permit the App to request any advertisements, access to gameplay may be unavailable. You are not required to agree to personalised advertising or cross-app tracking when limited or non-personalised advertisements can lawfully be provided.
On iOS, LaneSurfer may request permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework before using data to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies or before accessing the device’s advertising identifier for that purpose.
If you refuse this permission, LaneSurfer may still display limited or non-personalised advertisements when permitted by your other privacy choices. Refusing Apple’s tracking permission by itself does not prevent you from playing when advertising services remain legally available.
You can manage Apple tracking permission in the privacy settings of your iOS device.
We process information for the following purposes:
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or similar legislation applies, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
You may withdraw consent through the available privacy controls. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing performed before consent was withdrawn.
We do not sell your directly identifying personal information.
We use the following service providers:
Google AdMob provides advertising, advertising measurement and related services. Google and participating advertising partners may process information according to your location and privacy choices.
More information:
Supabase provides anonymous authentication, database and backend services used for high scores and related App functionality. Information processed through Supabase may include the anonymous UUID, score information, timestamps and optional display names.
More information:
We may also disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with the law, enforce our rights, investigate fraud or security incidents, or protect users and the public.
Google, Supabase and their service providers may process information in countries outside your country of residence, including countries outside the European Economic Area.
Where required, these transfers are protected through recognised legal safeguards, such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms used by the relevant service provider.
Local information remains on your device until it is removed by the App, overwritten, cleared through your device settings or deleted when you uninstall the App.
Online high-score records may be retained while the leaderboard or LaneSurfer service remains operational, unless the information is deleted earlier following a valid request or because it is no longer needed.
Because leaderboard records may be associated only with an anonymous identifier, we may need that identifier and sufficient score information to locate a record. Without this information, we may be unable to determine which anonymous record belongs to you.
Google and Supabase retain information according to their own policies and legal obligations.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. These measures may include encrypted network connections, access controls and database security rules.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on your location, you may have rights including:
In the Netherlands, you may lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
To request deletion of an online high score, include as much of the following information as possible:
We may request additional information where reasonably necessary to identify the relevant anonymous records and prevent fraudulent deletion requests.
LaneSurfer is intended for a general audience. It is not specifically designed for or directed to children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly request a child’s real name, email address, telephone number or other directly identifying information. Users should not enter personal information in a leaderboard display name.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has provided personal information through LaneSurfer, please contact us. If we can identify the relevant information, we will take appropriate steps to review and, where required, delete it.
LaneSurfer or its privacy screens may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, security or privacy practices of those third parties. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies before using their services.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to LaneSurfer, our service providers, legal requirements or privacy practices.
When we make changes, we will publish the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the App where appropriate.
